A whole nation and in fact our whole world can be held to blackmail with the powers given to religion.
Simply allowing religions to have threats of any kind against the life of an individual even if it is presented as being under the guidance of a spirit or a God gives the controllers th epower to blackmail and abuse entire populations.
Religious Freedom and Human Rights can never happliy coexist if they were to both reach their goals. In a Human Rights protected world a religion would not be permitted to threaten and coerce in the ways they do currently.
The Royal Commission and the failure of governments to provide safe, humane pathways to justice for the injured shows that justice is not being served.
Was the Royal Commission at fault or has the response been where Australia has failed the thousands of child sexual abuse victims? Both might the final conclusion, however the ability is there and that says that the greatest failing has been the actions taken in the areas of governance.
