In Australia government funded and supported institutions, and their clergy bound by doctrine and oaths of allegiance to a foreign Vatican sovereign daily act with impunity to pervert justice, minimise and cloak rape in eternal secrecy, prioritizing papal loyalty over truth, victims and national law.

For decades, religious institutions, particularly the Catholic Church, have hidden rapists behind the seal of confession and toxic doctrines of divine forgiveness. They have obstructed, and denied justice and closure to uncountable Australians. That horror will live on for centuries to come.

Australia, land of the "fair go," prides itself on mateship, equality, and freedom. Yet beneath this sun-baked veneer lies a nation divided, vulnerable, and riddled with contradictions. We fragment ourselves along lines of faith, politics, and power, all while cloaking systemic failures in the garb of sanctity. How can we claim to champion religious freedoms when those very freedoms have been weaponised to shield sexual predators and silence their innocent victims?
For decades, religious institutions, particularly the Catholic Church, have hidden their child abusers and rapists behind the seal of confession and doctrines of divine forgiveness. The Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse laid it bare: thousands of victims, perpetrators shuffled between parishes, confessions kept secret in the name of religious tradition. Even as states like Victoria and Queensland enacted laws mandating priests to report abuse heard in confession, prioritising child safety over absolute confessional privilege, church leaders resisted, some vowing to defy the law rather than break their vows. This isn't protection of faith; it's protection of the powerful at the expense of the vulnerable. How many children suffered because "religious freedom" trumped their right to justice? We outrage over distant atrocities yet tolerate this hypocrisy at home, where the cloak of holiness conceals the profane.
And who enables this? A political class that profits from division. Blind party loyalty turns citizens into pawns, voting for representatives who usurp true democracy. Politicians court religious blocs for votes, delaying or diluting reforms that might offend the pious, while ignoring the cries of survivors. We have the technology for direct democracy, secure online voting, citizen-initiated referendums, yet we cling to an outdated system where power brokers negotiate behind closed doors. Imagine a Living Bill of Rights: a dynamic, people-amended charter enshrining protections for the vulnerable, transparent governance, and real accountability. One that evolves with society, not frozen in 1901 parchment, biased toward those who lobby loudest, or those that claim piety.
Australia is fragmented: urban vs. regional, believer vs. non-believer, privileged vs. preyed-upon. We uphold freedoms that allow hatred to fester under the guise of belief, while the vulnerable children, survivors, minorities pay the price. This isn't perfection; it's perfidy. It's time to shatter the illusions. Demand transparency. Demand direct voice. Demand a nation that protects its weakest, not its hypocrites.
Wake up, Australia. The fair go shouldn't be reserved for those wearing the fetid cloak of religious perfection. It's time for true justice for the children, for the divided, for all of us.
It's time to stand up and be accountable, it's time to be a genuinely responsible adult.
2023 Findings in Spain found that 0.6% of the population of Spain had been sexually abused by Roman Catholic priests and laity. Up to 50 million alive on any day who have been raped or abused by Catholic clergy &/or Catholic laity
Current world population is 8 billion - 0.6% = 48 million alive today who are likely to have been raped by Catholics globally.
The church protected the perpetrators, not the victims
"This is a matter for the church and I respect the internal judgements of the church. I don't stand outside the church and provide them with public lectures in terms of how they should behave. I've noted carefully what his Holiness has said in the United States. Obviously that was a source of great comfort and healing in the United States. I'm like all Australians very much looking forward to what the Pope has to say here in Australia as well, as I am to my own conversation with the Pope later this morning." Kevin Rudd, Prime Minister of Australia, 17 July 2008. more

The Commissioner informs us that the clergy sexual abuse issue was all over and that it had only been a
small statistical glitch around the year 2000. History shows this to have been a display of absolute ignorance
on the issue ...
