Welcome to a New Model of Democracy
I'm John, a resident of Brisbane, Queensland, and I'm exploring a run for the federal seat of Brisbane as an independent candidate. My vision is to create a truly representative democracy where you, the people, have direct input on policies and legislation.
This isn't about party politics or lobbyists—it's about empowering the electorate through open, transparent participation. Using tools like LiquidFeedback, we'll propose, discuss, and vote on ideas together. My role in Parliament would be to amplify your collective voice.

Our Participatory Platform
At the heart of this initiative is LiquidFeedback, an open-source liquid democracy system. Here's how it works:
- Propose Ideas: Anyone in the electorate can submit proposals on local or national issues.
- Discuss Openly: Engage in threaded debates to refine ideas collaboratively.
- Vote Directly: Use preferential voting to decide on stances, with options to delegate votes if needed.
- Transparency: All processes are public and auditable.
As your representative, I'll vote in Parliament based on the platform's outcomes, free from party or lobbyist influence. This scales from pilots to full participation, fostering genuine representation.
Advocating for 100% Secular Governance
Religion can be divisive, and organized groups often receive undue exemptions and benefits. My priority is secular-only services in health, aged care, education, and governance.
Key Issues:
- End tax exemptions for "advancement of religion" (costing billions annually).
- Remove discrimination allowances in publicly funded services.
- Ensure government-funded providers operate without religious bias.
Through the platform, we'll debate and vote on reforms to prioritize equality and fiscal fairness for all Australians.
A Living Bill of Rights
I propose a dynamic Bill of Rights that evolves with each generation. This living document would:
- Protect fundamental rights while adapting to societal changes.
- Allow individuals and communities to propose amendments.
- Be refined through participatory voting on the platform.
This ensures rights remain relevant and beneficial, empowering every Australian to shape our shared future.
How You Can Participate
Getting involved is easy:
- Sign up on the platform (coming soon) if you're in the Brisbane electorate.
- Propose or discuss ideas on upcoming legislation.
- Vote or delegate on key issues.
- Spread the word to grow participation.
Start with local pilots on Brisbane-specific concerns, and watch it expand to federal impact.
You have reached a momentary dead end - express Your Interest or move on to further failures.
