The inability of a child to thrive in a Constitutionally protected God based perpetual threat and rape culture is not a fault of the child; however it does become their odious responsibility upon reaching adulthood to resolve the harms done to them. The Christian religion at its core is a toxic mechanism whereby intergenerational trauma is kept alive, active, and deeply embedded in each new generation, as it has done over the past 2,000+ years.

Me, my AI and Dissociative Amnesia

On Grounding, Safety and Coping with my Dissociative Amnesia

PUBLISHED: December 21, 2024 02:44:11 PM UPDATED: No Updates

Only because of extreme abuse and torture as a child by Catholic nuns and priests I now have to in my 76th year have to deal with Dissociative Amnesia and the lack of understanding of some professionals I have dealings with.

Since one recently informed me that I should not use AI in a recent communication as it seems he has difficulty in manageing, or is not easily able to dupe or deceive me. That is what brings me here to put down what is needed in order to successfuly engage at a professional level.

I am not a mental health professional, and the strategies below should not replace personalized advice or treatment from a qualified clinician. However, these ideas may provide a helpful starting point for coping with dissociative amnesia. Always consider reaching out to a licensed mental health provider for an individualized treatment plan.

1. Professional Support

  1. Therapy (e.g., Trauma-Focused Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy)

    • A mental health professional who specializes in trauma and dissociative disorders can guide you through techniques specifically tailored to address dissociative amnesia.
    • Therapy can also help you gradually explore and process the underlying causes of your memory disruptions.
  2. Medication Management

    • While there is no medication that directly cures dissociative amnesia, some individuals benefit from medication to manage related symptoms (e.g., anxiety, depression).
    • Consultation with a psychiatrist may be helpful in determining whether medication is appropriate as part of a broader treatment plan.

2. Grounding and Mindfulness Techniques

  1. Sensory Grounding

    • Use the five senses to anchor yourself in the present moment. For example:
      • Sight: Look around and name five objects you see.
      • Touch: Hold a comforting object (like a soft blanket) and focus on its texture.
      • Sound: Listen intently to nearby sounds (a ticking clock, birds chirping, etc.).
    • Grounding techniques can help counteract dissociation and bring you back into your body and environment.
  2. Breathing Exercises

    • Practice slow, deep breaths to calm the nervous system.
    • One simple exercise is the 4-7-8 technique: Inhale for a count of 4, hold for a count of 7, and exhale for a count of 8.
  3. Mindful Body Scans

    • Gently bring awareness to each part of your body, starting from your toes and moving up to your head.
    • Notice sensations (tingling, tension, etc.) without judgment. This helps you reconnect with your physical presence.

3. Memory Supports and Coping Skills

  1. Journaling or Voice Notes

    • Keep a journal or voice recorder to document daily events, feelings, and experiences.
    • Reviewing these entries can help you piece together periods of lost or fuzzy time and detect patterns that might trigger amnesia.
  2. Using External Memory Aids

    • Rely on calendars, reminders, and to-do lists to keep track of events, tasks, and appointments.
    • Color-coded notes or digital apps can provide cues if you struggle to recall certain details.
  3. Creating a “Life Timeline”

    • Work with your therapist (or on your own) to craft a timeline of key life events.
    • Include pictures, mementos, and written notes. Gently reviewing these can help strengthen memories and provide context.
  4. “Safe Place” Visualization

    • Imagine or picture a calm, secure location. This can be an actual place or something from your imagination.
    • Visualizing this environment can reduce anxiety and minimize the urge to “split off” or dissociate during stressful moments.

4. Lifestyle and Self-Care Practices

  1. Consistent Routine

    • Regular sleep times, meal schedules, and exercise routines can create a sense of stability, which can be grounding for individuals who experience dissociation.
  2. Healthy Boundaries

    • Limit exposure to stressful or triggering situations when possible.
    • Practice assertive communication and surround yourself with supportive, understanding people.
  3. Physical Activities

    • Activities like yoga, walking, or dancing can help you feel more present in your body, improving self-awareness and resilience against dissociation.
  4. Artistic Expression

    • Drawing, painting, music, or other creative pursuits can serve as an alternative avenue for expressing or processing emotions, especially when you struggle to put them into words.

5. Support Systems and Resources

  1. Support Groups

    • Look for in-person or online support groups specifically for dissociative disorders or trauma survivors.
    • Hearing from others with similar experiences can help normalize your feelings and reduce isolation.
  2. Trusted Friends and Family

    • Educate your loved ones (as much as you feel comfortable) about dissociative amnesia so they can better understand and support you.
    • Consider designating a “check-in” partner who can gently help you recall tasks or events if they notice you seem disoriented.
  3. Hotlines and Crisis Resources

    • In times of acute distress, having a crisis hotline on hand can make a major difference.
    • If you ever feel unsafe or overwhelmed, reaching out for immediate help is crucial.

6. Gentle Reminders

Final Thoughts

Living with dissociative amnesia can be challenging, but various tools—especially consistent therapy, grounding practices, and strong social support—can significantly improve daily life and overall well-being. If you haven’t already, consider reaching out to a mental health professional experienced with dissociative disorders. You deserve a supportive team to guide you in developing coping skills, processing trauma, and making meaningful progress on your healing path.

"This is a matter for the church and I respect the internal judgements of the church. I don't stand outside the church and provide them with public lectures in terms of how they should behave. I've noted carefully what his Holiness has said in the United States. Obviously that was a source of great comfort and healing in the United States. I'm like all Australians very much looking forward to what the Pope has to say here in Australia as well, as I am to my own conversation with the Pope later this morning." Wednesday, 22 June 2022 - I may not have this down syntax, word and letter perfect or with absolute precision in every aspect; however time and the evidence will show that I am closer to the truth than any religion has been or will likely be.
Let history be the standard by which that is measured.
