The inability of a child to thrive in a Constitutionally protected God based perpetual threat and rape culture is not a fault of the child; however it does become their odious responsibility upon reaching adulthood to resolve the harms done to them. The Christian religion at its core is a toxic mechanism whereby intergenerational trauma is kept alive, active, and deeply embedded in each new generation, as it has done over the past 2,000+ years.

Scum bags : Hon Clare O'Neil MP Minister for Cyber Security Minister for Home Affairs

Hon Clare O'Neil MP Minister for Cyber Security Minister for Home Affairs

"sub-human" and "scumbags."

As a survivor of childhood abuse by the Catholic clergy, I have faced a lifetime of challenges and emotional turmoil. Despite the progress society has made in recent years, the scars of my past remain, and the shadow of the culture that abused me still looms large. The journey towards healing, accountability, and justice is far from easy, and recent experiences have made it painfully clear how much work remains to be done.

I was reminded of this when I encountered a statement by Clair O'Neil, Australia's Cyber Security Minister, who expressed her disgust for individuals who exploit personal health information for financial gain, calling them "sub-human" and "scumbags." This strong condemnation of privacy violations struck a chord with me, as it highlighted the importance of respecting an individual's privacy and dignity.

However, this sentiment stands in stark contrast to an experience I had in a public hospital emergency ward just a few months back. The admitting nurse, who had access to my full medical records, began her admission work with the opening words of a Catholic exorcism: "I have lied, therefore I have sinned." This deeply traumatizing act, which mirrored the exorcisms I was subjected to during my childhood abuse, left me feeling vulnerable and unsafe in a place where I should have felt protected.

We all have a right to feel safe.

The actions of the admitting nurse were a violation of my privacy and dignity, a betrayal of the very principles that Minister O'Neil champions. Her actions have had a profound impact on my mental health, impeding my ability to function in day-to-day life and pursue justice for the abuse I suffered. The misuse of my personal information in this context is as reprehensible as those condemned by the minister.

This incident serves as a reminder of the compounding mental health effects that survivors of religious trauma experience throughout their lives. Each new event that mirrors past abuse reopens old wounds and intensifies feelings of fear, helplessness, and a lack of safety. The damage to trust in healthcare professionals, institutions, and society as a whole can be severe and long-lasting, creating barriers to accessing necessary care and support.

As a survivor, I am all too familiar with the struggle to find accountability and safe support in a society that still bears the marks of the culture which abused me. It is vital that we come together to promote change and create a more compassionate, supportive environment for survivors. This involves raising awareness, implementing robust reporting and investigative processes, providing specialized support, enforcing legal and institutional consequences, and fostering transparency and continuous improvement.

The road to justice and recovery is fraught with challenges, but it is not an impossible journey. It is up to all of us-individuals, communities, and institutions-to actively work towards dismantling harmful power structures and ensuring that the rights and needs of survivors are prioritized. Only then can we truly begin to move forward and create a society where privacy, dignity, and justice are the foundations upon which we stand.

"This is a matter for the church and I respect the internal judgements of the church. I don't stand outside the church and provide them with public lectures in terms of how they should behave. I've noted carefully what his Holiness has said in the United States. Obviously that was a source of great comfort and healing in the United States. I'm like all Australians very much looking forward to what the Pope has to say here in Australia as well, as I am to my own conversation with the Pope later this morning." Wednesday, 22 June 2022 - I may not have this down syntax, word and letter perfect or with absolute precision in every aspect; however time and the evidence will show that I am closer to the truth than any religion has been or will likely be.
Let history be the standard by which that is measured.

Youtube - listen to Commissioner Bob Atkinson get it wrong - again
The Commissioner informs us that the clergy sexual abuse issue was all over and that it had only been a small statistical glitch around the year 2000. History shows this to have been a display of absolute ignorance on the issue ...
