The inability of a child to thrive in a Constitutionally protected God based perpetual threat and rape culture is not a fault of the child; however it does become their odious responsibility upon reaching adulthood to resolve the harms done to them. The Christian religion at its core is a toxic mechanism whereby intergenerational trauma is kept alive, active, and deeply embedded in each new generation, as it has done over the past 2,000+ years.

Bligh, Rudd, rape and Australia's cultural hegemony

Hi John

Thank you for your recent Share Your Story on the Anna4Queensland website. The Premier has asked that I respond to you on her behalf.

The Bligh Government strongly abhors and objects to sexual abuse in all its forms. Furthermore, the safety and wellbeing of all children will always be an enduring principle of the Bligh Government.

The Premier takes your concerns seriously, as such, the Minister for Communities, the Honourable Lindy Nelson-Carr MP has recently written to Queensland Heads of Churches seeking their engagement on the issues raised in your letter. The Bligh Government will pursue a dialogue with the Heads of Churches in order to bring about the best resolution possible.

Priority investment into child protection commenced in 2005-06 with $10 million per annum to improve prevention and early intervention services for vulnerable families. This included$1.5 million for nine specialist counselling services with two services available in Cairns and $8.5 million for Referral for Active Intervention (RAI) services established in 10 locations across Queensland. Two services, Cairns and Townsville, receive additional funding to provide intensive family support to Indigenous families.

The Bligh Government is also working in partnership with the Rudd Federal Government to develop a National Child Protection Framework which will  make it easier for Federal and State agencies to work together when children may be at risk of being harmed.

Many thanks

Mark

On the matter of clergy abuse.

Why is the leading light of christianity (the Catholic church) simply unwilling or unable to develop and deploy a single universal policy on child safety and protection?

Why is this church unable to provide the same care and attention to those harmed by clergy abuse as it does to its own clergy members when they have been harmed?

Why is this church unable to achieve these basics, particularly in those areas regarding children?

These inabilities are called failure. Universal, total and complete failure in these most basic of human responsibilities.

Is there room in a society for a religion to be permitted to preach that it is the one true church and is the only true way to eternal life and to put forth its myriad views in regards all things social, sexual and reproductive in our society whilst it is incapable of deploying what is universally understood to be the first basic step or requirement in regards ensuring the protection and safety of children?

No person respects the current response of the catholic church to the clergy abuse issue. No person. Every. Every individual with an interest or thoughts on this matter will point out some aspect where itcan be or needs to be improved or an aspect where the church has failed itself, christianity, and the people of each country on our planet and their children. Every individual. There is simply and only one word  which describes the completeness and totality of this - failure.

What benefits can a failed church or religion bring to our society if it is unable to implement and uphold these few basics for the safety and benefit of our current and future children?

If this church is unable to bring these few basic human things into our society should we permit it to continue to exist in its current form? Or should we permit it to exist at all?

Do you agree with the Prime Minister on both of the following statements of his in regards matters pertaining to clergy abuse?

The Prime Minister on Muslims in regards wife beating and rape.

"Under no circumstances is sexual violence permissible or acceptable in Australia - under no circumstances."

"Australia will not tolerate these sort of remarks. They don't belong in modern Australia, and he should stand up, repudiate them and apologise."

The Prime Minister on children sexually abused and raped by Catholic clergy.

"This is a matter for the church and I respect the internal judgements of the church. I don't stand outside the church and provide them with public lectures in terms of how they should behave..."

What are your plans and policies in regards the clergy abuse issue?

What are your plans and policies in regards the appalling figures in relation to the sexual abuse of children in our society?

On the sexual abuse, exploitation & deception of children

There is no excuse for sexual abuse according to our law and government except when the abuse has been carried out by Catholic clergy.

"This is a matter for the church and I respect the internal judgements of the church. I don't stand outside the church and provide them with public lectures in terms of how they should behave..."

Kevin Rudd, Prime Minister of Australia, 17 July 2008.

This is perhaps the most horrific act of abandonment perpetrated against the children of a specific religion by an Australian head of State and is recorded in our history for perpetuity as being made by Kevin Rudd on 17 July 2008, when he spoke in regards those affected by the sexual abuses carried out by Catholic clergy.http://www.pm.gov.au/media/Interview/2008/interview_0363.cfm

This is a deeply flawed and invalid response both morally and legally which includes all victims of clergy abuse being referred over to the leader of the Catholic Church or the respective leaders of other Churches or Religions when quite clearly sexual abuse by clergy is a phenomena found in many Churches and religions and it simply is not within the Prime Ministers realm to pass responsibility for those sexually abused by Catholic and non-Catholic clergy over to the Catholic church or anyone else.

Is it any wonder our children are confused?

No wonder our children are confused - if we continually send confusing messages to our children then it is us who is acting irrationally when we demand the right to sanction them for acting in the same way we do, or in the same way our Government services do.

No amount of resources, education, laws, treatments or levels of incarceration and sanctions can educate a child to function both successfully and rationally in a society when the very society which is demanding that is unable itself to function at the levels demanded. There is no rational response to such an irrational situation.

Is it any wonder so many are confused?

Government and our religions are unable to provide and implement successful strategies in regards sexual abuses by clergy and other in the community.

Government and our religions repeatedly and stubbornly refuse to consult with the victims of these abuses by clergy and others in the community and their carers and advocates.

Is it any wonder so many are abused and re-abused?

How can they expect our children to act in a more adult and responsible manner, a manner which is above the examples set by our Governments and religious.

How irrational and foolish are we when we use sanctions against those who are unable to perform on demand at a higher level than those applying the sanctions.

Is it any wonder our children think we are foolhardy and stupid?

Of course we can always sanction our children severely for saying that we got it wrong. We can also sanction them for getting it wrong themselves in a confused world. Their need to survive and remain accepted as children will simply cause them to cede to those sanctions. This simply shows that if you beat a child hard enough and demand that he agree with you they must if they simply want to be loved by their parents and elders. If they want to ever experience the love of those who sanction they simply have no choice but to cede and conform to the power held over them - this use of power proves nothing other than acknowledging the fact that you can force someone into submission. It in no way proves your are on the right track.

Quite simply if these men genuinely had the ear of God as they say, it simply would not have taken 500 years as in the case of Mr Galilei and the shape of the earth, nor would it take very long to resolve the sexual abuse issue if they simply had 10 seconds with God.

It is clear that they simply do not have that line to Jesus Christ because quite simply if they did they would act differently.

2023 Findings in Spain found that 0.6% of the population of Spain had been sexually abused by Roman Catholic priests and laity. Up to 50 million alive on any day who have been raped or abused by Catholic clergy &/or Catholic laity

Current world population is 8 billion - 0.6% = 48 million alive today who are likely to have been raped by Catholics globally.

The church protected the perpetrators, not the victims

Wednesday, 22 June 2022 - I may not have this down syntax, word and letter perfect or with absolute precision in every aspect; however time and the evidence will show that I am closer to the truth than any religion has been or will likely be.
Let history be the standard by which that is measured.

Youtube - listen to Commissioner Bob Atkinson get it wrong - again
The Commissioner informs us that the clergy sexual abuse issue was all over and that it had only been a small statistical glitch around the year 2000. History shows this to have been a display of absolute ignorance on the issue ...
