True contrition by religious and others institutions shown to be at fault or any that work or have contact in any manner with children would be showing a genuine desire to eliminate the problems of abuse and exploitation in Australia through their real actions.
A Royal Commission like inquiry with no sealing of information, complete and easily accessible video and transcripts available in a suitably current and user friendly process; in fact the intention is to counter the toxic effects built in to the current system. Secrecy has driven the cover up and continues at an increased tempo today with guilty or conflicted people clawing and fighting in their attempt to gain control. Anticipated expenditure of $1Bn over 10 years.
Evidence based, trauma informed and directed. Open, transparent with no alignments or allegiances to institutions, individuals, corporations as its stated aim is to identify and formulate methods of application across communities.
Openness, transparency and accountability can only be achieved and assured when your every word, your every conversation is on the record. Historian should be able to access every conversation held in both audio and video. Many will pale with the gaping mouths of the ignorant and ill-informed and will raise the issue of privacy and confidentiality as has been their way for generations and has played a leading role in binging us all to this point in history. Those with the required degree of social responsibility will have no other intentions than to ensure that the children of the future gain the utmost protection so that they can for the first time in our evolution reach adulthood with absolute confidence that their mind, their psyche, their lifetime up to now has been focused on protecting them from the many toxic aspects of our current society; if you are genuine in that wish them like so many survivors who stepped out publicly in response to the Royal Commission will have no issues with being on the record. This shows their willingness to learn from our own mistakes as well as from the mistakes of others and those in position of power and authority.
This is that level playing field that every one hollers for.
This is the openness that we all know this problem needs.
Will this be the "one thing" that we can not do?
Engagement and interaction at every level of the community should be a primary goal.
Technology can achieve the above today and can leave a permanent understanding for the future of our real attempt at grappling with these issues.
Perhaps one or two of the billions found by George Pell just laying around the Vatican could be put to work in such a grand social solution. Over 10 years the entire sum would amount to less than half of 1% of that received from governments by religions and charities. That change of mentality that would move those structures from providing increasing returns to those fortunate enough to be employed in their charity system to one that actually invests in the children of the future. Perhaps some of those corporations who hide their profits off-shore or minimise their taxes may be able to clamber above their glass ceilings of misogyny, profit and personal gain by making a permanent investment into advancing society whilst protecting children and the vulnerable so that one day we can rest knowing that children of the future will have that real opportunity to reach their full potential..
John Brown was born in Yea Victoria 3717 on 27 December, 1948. John grew up in Yea, he went to the Catholic school on The Parade and then a final year at Yea High. He undertook an apprenticeship as a Hand and Machine Compositor/Linotype Mechanic at the local newspaper The Yea Chronicle who recently declined to publish anything on John's story. He left Yea after realising that the proprietor and local policeman Bill Ellisson along with other local Catholics in Yea and surrounds at that time were aware of his abuse and of the rape and abuse of other children in Yea and were aware of the many unreported issues surrounding the murder of Herbert Henry Kemp of ...... read more 1544991203 and more and more and Site Map
Investigation of an unsolved murder in 1962 can no longer be investigated according to police taskforce SANO because a pedophile Catholic clergyman who raped a child at age 8 is now dead. As a result of the dead rapist being unconnected with the murder Victorian police remain clue less.
Later in life John married in Toowoomba only to find that he was related to the then bishop of Toowoomba Bill Morris. Morris was the head of the bishops conference and was the go to person in the country for survivors of childhood sexual abuse by Catholic clergy and yet I was never able to get a time or a conversation with the bishop. I did get conversations or connection with a number of Catholic organisations with varying degrees of weirdness.
John's story is just another story of horror, rape, abuse of trust, fraud and deception and cover up in the Catholic religion because our abusers as a child were Catholic or Christian clergy.
