I wrote the original short article some years ago. At that time the Royal Commissions were collecting evidence, survivors were coming forth and very brave people shared their experiences . My own observations are my own observations . They are based on what I saw on the streets of Melbourne, in the country towns and the many stories shared with me . It is now merely a reflection of what I was able to learn without being privy to the internal machinations of various organizations . I was privy to the outcomes, I saw with my own eyes the individuals and communities impacted . Ordinary people that had been denied a chance to make it good, some forced into crime to earn a crust others compelled to work in menial positions because they had been denied essential education. The one thing that struck me was that it had created persons that had been dis-empowered, made dependent and forced into living lives of conflicting realites . Then I saw the glib and hurtful judgements made by those that regarded themselves as the social betters of those who had survived . I spend much time with my 'community', many have become close friends . I am not going to list names, I am not into photo moments .
I have seen the lies that had to be lived, the conflicting emotions and the manufactured struggles with personal faith. As a man, a father and a man that has his own view as to what duty of care means, what serving a community means - much of what I saw angered me to the core . I have seen those that knew themselves abandoned and betrayed, the mindgames played and the games that continue to be played . Until we have a system of transparency and accountability, the danger of abuse will continue . Until our elected leaders get over the bamboozle of certain faith based organizations, the funding allocations and games will continue and the real suffering will continue .
Religion - Faith Based Groups and the Secular State of the 21st Century
Forgotten Australians - Bringing it Home - Bringing them Home
It is nonsense to suggest that the secular state is free from the pernicious influence of the religions and faith based groups that have not only lost the focus of their stated mission - the bringing of the light and salvation - when such groups willingly engage in the lobbying of secular leaders and elected politicians.
They exert pressure using the numbers of bums on seats philosophy of control combined with access to funds provided by those who sadly have bought the lies of the Gods that they have created as a marketing exercise.
It is easy to claim to be speaking in the name of the divine and to refer to revelations and the benefit of divine guidance; it is even easier to find such criminals because they have left a trail of destruction in their wake.
In Australia alone, more than 500,000 Persons have fallen victim to such scams and orchestrated predation since WWII alone and we refer to them as the 'Stolen Generation'. Those half a million australians and those they came into contact with, the families and communities they build following their interactions with what were regarded as 'Care Givers' have all been affected adversely by the conduct of these 'Faith' based groups and government departments who were happy to be advised from those lovingly appointed marketers of the 'Word'
We are currently having Royal Commissions into the terrible dealings that caused the 'Forgotten Children ', the removal of those deemed at risk of moral danger and other such non-sense or often the result of failed policies, circumstances and the human condition. Judgements and labels applied to those that had fallen through the cracks in a Society where there is a perception of the ideal in terms of 'Family' and the hidden realities if dysfunctional families, incest and other crimes hidden by the 'Brick Veneer' Building that served as the 'Home' visible to the Neighbours and other family members. In hindsight we must consider that as a Society we failed to protect our young, maybe there were too many conflicting demands and messages that our elected Leaders took into account.
Hindsight and report reading is one thing, living as a 'Survivor' of these failed systems is another. Healing as a Community is so very important, but denial and moving these matters into the adversarial field to minimize accountability and reduce litigation re-traumatizes the very Victims that our now questionable systems created. There are still many apologists for those that failed in their mission to care and this too is part of denial. This on-going denial does little for those Forgotten Australians that are now in their later years of life. When will Governments offer simple systems that will provide quality support and care? Are we afraid of the very numbers involved? What do these very large numbers say about the rest of us?
These Australians numbered as 'Forgotten' or 'Stolen', they are not just numbers and statistical points of interest. They are first of all 'Human Beings', some ones parent, partner or workmate. The person that I meet in the Street, now in their fifties (or in other age demographics), for the first time in the lives disclosing the personal trauma suffered and its life changing impact. Having lived through years of being told that their 'stories' could not possibly be true and now feeling some vindication because the Royal Commissions shone a light on their plight.
These are not numbers; they are my fellow Australians, fellow human beings. Trust is a big issue for many that I have spoken with. That breach of trust and sense of betrayal and abandonment and many other matters. Until we resolve many of the questions on the ground, how can we rebuild trust after the very word has been so tainted and sullied by the deeds of some who appeared to have so much influence and power?
Then of course the impact of the 'Orphaned Migrants 'who were placed into the 'loving hands 'of various Roman Catholic Church groups who, once in the clutches of the maniacal cultists (faithful) did not benefit from the unconditional love of the 'Christ 'but served to provide cheap labour and children ready for sexual predation by those who sought their prey hidden by Religious titles and well connected support. (Other faith based groups must have been grateful that their own misconduct appeared less harmful as the Roman Catholic Hierarchy was hammered) When we take into account the damage and harm inflicted on the Original Inhabitants of Australia, a culture of 40000 years and the physical and cultural genocide inflicted by the white Colonizers and the systems they established to seize and control the lands, the numbers increase and do date there has been little recognition or acceptance of realities. (First Nations People ) An attitude of moral and spiritual superiority that made is possible to de-humanize one people was easily modified and applied to others. Yet we continue to be blissfully unaware or choose to be unaware of that which occurred!
Even the Salvation Army (Historically held in high regard by many for the good that was done at times, and there are those Officers that continue to provide service to those in need) was not exception to this practice of using the most vulnerable to make itself a more credible political force, provide sexual gratification for its own officers and financial incentives for those who knowingly accepted the 'better 'life style offered with a smile and open hands .. And suffer the little Children. The cost of these criminal behaviours is beyond the pale, not just in financial terms but the very real suffering and ruination of lives.
Generations of the most vulnerable, removed from their 'Families 'and 'Communities 'to be turned into 'acceptable 'human beings. Acceptable for further exploitation and manipulation, acceptable for the creation of a huge infra- structure of' Service Providers' that now are thought to manage the affairs of those damaged in many cases beyond repair and living in horror of their memories . The Mafia was successful because it had standards that at least tried to protect the interests of its members in the original place of its birth, an occupied little Island seeking to protect its own people from exploitation. The Mafia (the Black Hand) in time became corrupted as the pressures caused by the Occupiers was removed and moved into other activities to allow for survival, in time becoming seen as a pariah and treated accordingly both by the Government and the Media. There is NO difference between the activities of these Faith based groups and Mafia in its own End of Days. Having lost its focus and mission into the hands who were well aware of the loss, these Groups have become perverted and used by Individuals seeking to control others and provide never ending supplies of those that need' Service Suppliers' and 'Case Managers' to manage what little quality of life, self-worth and dignity was left . If you have a problem with this concept I advise you to carefully study the revelations of the Royal Commissions, the responses by the Roman Catholic Church and the ongoing desire by the Salvation Army to be seen as the Voice of those they have crippled and made voiceless by fear leaving the survivors to struggle daily with the memories of being brought into the Light by having their bodies used and abused in oh so many terrible ways and even worse, NONE of this was done without the knowledge and at least tacit approval of those representing the Secular State . We do not need to be saved from the Shepherds, for we are not sheep.
We do need serious criminal investigations into the behaviours of Groups that behave much like organized crime groups on a scale that is difficult to comprehend .
We must acknowledge the loss and suffering caused and take responsibility for we elected Leaders that allowed this to happen and above all, we must approach this in a way that is applicable to dealing with 'Criminals 'and 'Predators 'and not always shy away from this when they raise their invalid little voices and claim divine credibility or exemption from examination on 'religious 'grounds.
It is time for a serious miracle, the bringing of the truth and light and then we may bring all those Children home, because 'Home' is where they should have been and not in the clutches of the most vile .
It is time to bring them all 'Home ', it is time to bring home to the responsibility and breach of duty of care that was rampant .
Bring the 'Children 'Home and never again allow the building of a super structure of deceit and lies relying on those very grey areas of human perceptions.
Those seen as less worthy and deemed in need of 'Love' for they received NO Love, No Education and No Futures . This crime is a crime against the Secular State and must be treated accordingly and ruthlessly. In failing to take responsibility for that which we allowed to occur, be it through ignorance or wilful action, we become complicit in the very crimes and abuse disclosed in the Royal Commissions! AK

John Brown was born in Yea Victoria 3717 on 27 December, 1948. John grew up in Yea, he went to the Catholic school on The Parade and then a final year at Yea High. He undertook an apprenticeship as a Hand and Machine Compositor/Linotype Mechanic at the local newspaper The Yea Chronicle who recently declined to publish anything on John's story. He left Yea after realising that the proprietor and local policeman Bill Ellisson along with other local Catholics in Yea and surrounds at that time were aware of his abuse and of the rape and abuse of other children in Yea and were aware of the many unreported issues surrounding the murder of Herbert Henry Kemp of ...... read more 1544775614 and more and more and Site Map
Investigation of an unsolved murder in 1962 can no longer be investigated according to police taskforce SANO because a pedophile Catholic clergyman who raped a child at age 8 is now dead. As a result of the dead rapist being unconnected with the murder Victorian police remain clueless.
Later in life John married in Toowoomba only to find that he was related to the then bishop of Toowoomba Bill Morris. Morris was the head of the bishops conference and was the go to person in the country for survivors of childhood sexual abuse by Catholic clergy and yet I was never able to get a time or a conversation with the bishop. I did get conversations or connection with a number of Catholic organisations with varying degrees of weirdness.
