In Australia we have a parliamentry democracy and that means precisely that there is democracy for those elected to our parliament and the rest of the population can bugger off as democracy does not exist outside the parliament and as a result of voting for an individual on two or 3 issues they get to have their democratic opinion as often as they wish.
The illusion that we live in a democracy is a common delusion that repeatedly fails the population - the reality is that democracy exists only in and for those we elect into our parliaments and therefore the only times a citizen experiences democracy in Australia is when they are elected or invited under special privilege to experience a brief moment under a plethora of silencing and controlling rules.
Human rights exist in small and selected reworded options with exemptions and this is the best Australia has been able to do over the past 70 years as we remain non-binding signatories to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights but of course we note that Human Rights are something we should aspire to.
Until that changes Australians have less Human Rights than any other country who has signed and ratifies Human Rights into the law in every state of their nation.
Not us. Not in Australia. It could not happen here.
Is this one of the reasons why Australia has such an appalling reputation when it comes to justice and human rights in what we have all assumed was "The Lucky Country"?
Is this why the majority end up begging or hiding? Begging for just a few shreds of democracy and justice.
Accept my challenge to prove the above to be incorrect.
Not us. Not in Australia. It could not happen here because we have been duped and we wish to remain cheated, delusional and deceived by it because the reality of the truth is just not digestible despite this being the truth..
Is this why we end up begging? Begging for just a few shreds of democracy and justice..
John Brown was born in Yea Victoria 3717 on 27 December, 1948. John grew up in Yea, he went to the Catholic school on The Parade and then a final year at Yea High. He undertook an apprenticeship as a Hand and Machine Compositor/Linotype Mechanic at the local newspaper The Yea Chronicle who recently declined to publish anything on John's story. He left Yea after realising that the proprietor and local policeman Bill Ellisson along with other local Catholics in Yea and surrounds at that time were aware of his abuse and of the rape and abuse of other children in Yea and were aware of the many unreported issues surrounding the murder of Herbert Henry Kemp of The Parade Yea in 1962 ...... read more
Investigation of an unsolved murder in 1962 can no longer be investigated according to police taskforce SANO because a pedophile Catholic clergyman who raped a child at age 8 is now dead. As a result of the dead rapist being unconnected with the murder Victorian police remain clueless.
Later in life John married in Toowoomba only to find that he was related to the then bishop of Toowoomba Bill Morris. Morris was the head of the bishops conference and was the go to person in the country for survivors of childhood sexual abuse by Catholic clergy and yet I was never able to get a time or a conversation with the bishop. I did get conversations or connection with a number of Catholic organisations with varying degrees of weirdness.
